The international conference ManuREsource succeeded in exchanging a diversity of experiences between present partners & regions on the policy measures taken for coping with manure surpluses, both in terms of manure management in a broad sense, and more specifically in terms of manure treatment.
Important from the NUTRIMAN perspective was the opportunity to show examples of current developments and innovations in manure treatment technologies including the aspect of nutrient recovery. Ugent and Inagro were involved in the organizational committee and were responsible for a Nutriman poster and oral presentation. Furthermore, Vlaco highlighted via two presentations the N/P-recovery technologies and end products of two of its members (Biogas Bree: ID274/273 and Arbio:ID270/269) – Vlaco contributed to the physical presentation – delivered primarily by the owner and operator of the biogas site Arbio (Mr Tim Keysers) who presented the route and end result of a pioneer digestate post-treatment leading up to the a nitrogen rich fertiliser pellet (NPirriK: ID 270/269)) which can be exported at better value than before backmixing the RO concentrate into the digestate drying process.
