Technology description

Composting is the controlled aerobic breakdown and transformation of a mix of organic waste streams as crop residues, feed residues, straw, solid animal manure, wood chips, etcetera. The result is both a soil improver and a fertilizer. The composting process is performed by the activity of micro organisms and fungi. It is important to control process conditions as temperature, humidity, turning and wetting of the compost pile should be performed accordingly. During the  composting process, a hygienisation of the material occurs given the temperature reached (60-65°C). The resulting compost contains stable organic matter, recovered nutrients and microbial life, an ideal soil improver.
